what's it going to take...

Hey, Reader,

A while back I asked you fine people what your biggest struggles were with Bible study. You told me it was consistency.

(BTW, thank you for responding to the email)

I definitely know how hard it can be!

You intended to get up early or stay up after everyone has gone to bed or use your lunch hour. Then life gets in the way. Health issues flare up. The car breaks down. Stuff happens.

I am reminded every day how blessed we are to be in a country where we can freely study the Bible.

So what does that have to do with staying consistent?

Mindset.

When I remember what an awesome privilege it is to read and study the Bible without fear of death or prison, it gives me a new appreciation for the word of God.

Last week, my husband and I watched a movie called Disciples in the Moonlight (this is link to watch on the Angel Studios app but we borrowed it from the library). It's about a near-future United States where the Holy Bible (as you know it) is banned.

As I work on my debut novel and get the YouTube channel back to pure Bible study, this movie hit me in the feels. I was moved to tears. I'm holding back tears in the coffee shop writing this.

I think consistency is found in how we think about the Bible and why we study it. If it's just to check a box, then you will likely fail.

As you go through this week, I pray for me and you that God will renew a right spirit within us (Psalm 51:10).

Stay tuned for new videos coming soon.

Be blessed,

Wendy

Hey, Reader I don't usually email on Mondays, but the first video in the Foundations of Faith Bible Study series dropped this morning and I wanted you to be the first to know! No fancy editing or anything. Just you, me, scripture, and a lot of coffee (seriously, I had three cups before filming). Here's the link to the video (just click on the image): Let me know if you found this video helpful and if you have any suggestions or requests (also, I know not to have 3 cups of coffee before...

I know the last few days have been sort of confusing. I deeply apologize for that. The core of the channel and the reason I started this YouTube channel was to continue the Bible study, fellowship, and community I had during my 11 months as an intern at my local church. Somewhere along the way, it became about reviews Bibles and Bible study tools. And while there's nothing wrong with that, I don't believe that is the best way for me to serve you. Did I have an exciting new business idea the...

Hey Reader, Something wild just happened on a livestream. I declared a new focus: helping faith-based creators launch video podcasts without the tech or strategy headaches. Pat Flynn and Liz Wilcox loved the hook so much they literally gave me $50 on the spot. It made me realize how many people in our community have an educated, deep perspective on faith and culture but are completely locked up by camera settings, microphones, and editing software. You shouldn't let tech overhead silence your...
